What becoming a Certified B Corporation means for Litta.
Litta, the on-demand rubbish removal company, is now a Certified B Corporation™ (B Corp™). The certification follows a full assessment by B Lab, the nonprofit behind the B Corp standard, covering how Litta is governed and how it treats its workers, customers, communities, and the environment.
B Corp status isn't a badge you buy. Companies have to score above a set threshold, write their commitment to stakeholders into their legal documents, and recertify every three years. Litta has amended its Articles of Association so that directors must weigh the impact of decisions on customers, suppliers, communities and the environment, not only on shareholders.
For a waste business, that matters more than most. Bulky waste collection has often been associated with fly-tipping, unlicensed carriers and loads that end up in landfill with nobody asking questions. Litta was set up in 2017 to do it differently, using technology: instant online booking, a vetted network of licensed carriers, before-and-after photo verification and a digital Waste Transfer Note for every job.
Since launch, Litta has completed more than 220,000 collections across the UK. Of everything it clears, 97% is diverted from landfill through reuse, recycling and recovery.
Quote and impact
Aaron Georgiou, Founder and CEO of Litta, said:
"When I started Litta in 2017, getting rid of a sofa or a fridge was a hassle, and you rarely knew where it ended up. We built Litta to change that. Growth matters to us, but so does how we grow. Becoming a B Corp means our standards on the environment, on governance and on how we treat our partners are checked by someone else, not just set by us. It's a starting point. We'll keep reporting on it every year."
Alongside the certification, Litta has published its 2025 Impact Report, structured around B Lab's Processes, People and Planet framework. It sets out what the business has done so far and what it's committing to over the next 12 months:
- 95%+ landfill diversion, with 100% of hazardous waste disposed of safely and in line with environmental standards
- 100% of employees completing sustainability and DEI training
- A 4.9 Trustpilot rating as the customer satisfaction target, and 4/5 for employee satisfaction
- Smarter routing to cut unnecessary vehicle mileage and the emissions that come with it
The Board will review progress against these targets once a year, and Litta will publish an Impact Report annually.
